Horses
The stud has been the subject of detailed scientific studies on horse behaviour and welfare, education and ontology for the last 42 years (10 scientific papers and 4 books to date). It has moved from Sussex to the Isle of Mull, to Dartmoor National Park and now to La Drôme in France, we now have reached generation 7. The ethos of the stud is to breed educated versatile, good looking, tough, socially adaptable, long lived, delightful companions who are top quality horses and can be put in a plough one day, win a race the next and take people safely anywhere at any speed the day after. We do horse dance displays, (e.g. 'Farm Fantasia' Channel 4, 1995) and learn about our horses' cognition.
